Natya Mela 2012, a two day Bengali Theater Festival will be organized by Sanskriti in Pleasanton on Feb 4 and 5. Sanskriti is a Bay Area’s prominent Cultural and Charitable Association.

Last year, in October, Sanskriti was involved in organizing a festival to celebrate Durga Puja Other Cultural Programs and activities, including games like Carom and Table Tennis. As well they organized an event to pay tribute to Rabindra Nath Tagore on the occasion of his 150th Birth Anniversary at the same location Amador Theater, Pleasanton.
BARNAKATHA CHANDANNAGAR, a drama groupof West Bengal, have been presenting plays throughout the country and have bagged many a prizes, awards, felicitation, appreciation. Most popular plays of BARNAKATHA, CHANDANNAGAR are:

2. Hemanter Kusum (Flower of Dew Season – based on a
story of Rabindra Nath Tagore)
3. Paji Peter (Knave Peter – based on a story of
Sukumar Roy- its duration is 1Hr. 40 Minutes)

Other plays are under process: “RAKKHUSI” (Female
Demon), “DEBJANIR OEDIPOUS”.
The plays are written and directed by Samar Chattopadhyay who has been working in the field of Bengali Theatre for the last 45 years. He is also a very good performer, good organiser and producer.
Our plays have reviewed in local THeatyre Magazines. Paschim Banga Natya Akademy have honoured Shree Samar Chattopadhyay with life time Achievement Award as Dramatist in the year 2010 and our plays were staged on being invited by the State Akademy.
BARNAKATHA, CHANDANNAGAR like to entertain theatre lovers through the various scenes of its plays and also enlighten and enrich people’s thought through the messages of its plays.
We are very much interested to participate in the theatre festivals and competitions throughout the country. We hope the organisers of theatre festivals and competitions will consider our humble requests and provide us scopes to perform not only for our sake but for the sake of this performing art.

We contacted you earlier for the same purpose of performing at your place. But for some reason or other the matter didn’t work. So we would like to appeal to you for the purpose of performing at your place.
In this connection we are glad to inform you that we have staged two of our present productions, “JANALAR BAIREY” and “NISHKRITY” in Gujarat on 5th July,2014 and 6th July,2014. They invited us as well as Charbak, Kolkata to stage two productions each on those two days. The organisers were so moved to see our production, “JANALAR BAIREY” as well as “NISHKRITY” that they are keen to invite us to perform in the next year also. We will probably visit Mumbai with our production, “JANALAR BAIREY” in December, 2014.
However, we are very much interested to perform there at your place. If you feel interested in the matter then we are ready to send a DVD disc being video recorded one of our production, JANALAR BAIREY. Of course, you can easily see it through You Tube in the name Janalar Bairey. We hope we will never be dissapointed with our performances.
