Hindustani Classical Vocal music Cds

Dr. Sudha Patwardhan from Pune,India has published a set of 2 CDs. They are based on syllabus of Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal for Hindustani Classical Vocal music. CD-1 contains first 2 exams- Sangeet Prarambhik and Praveshika-Pratham. CD-2 contains third exam - Praveshika Poorna.

A practical demonstration of the chijas alongwith alaaps, boltaanas and taanas are performed in these CDs. The sets are made available in 3 different languages, Hindi, Marathi and English. Please choose the language while making the selection of the set.

Dr. Patwardhan says “Now-a-days children are showing more love towards the Indian Classical Music. This is the time they should be made available all possible help in nurturing their efforts in learning. That is why lessons given in the classroom just twice or thrice a week may not be sufficient. It is difficult for them to grasp the tunes and the songs that are taught in the music class. Here lies the importance of Audio CD which can help them further. Even if this CD is casually played by the parents, children listen to them, gradually they get acquainted to those notes and songs, alaaps, etc. They start liking the music and it stays at the back of their mind for long time.
